Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is an American and Canadian musician and singer. She has released over 20 albums. Her songs are classified as alternative and folk. Yet, they include influences from jazz hip hop punk, and funk. The widely regarded feminist icon Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco has been referred to as the "mother" of the DIY movement, and was among the first artists to create her own label the year 1990. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23 1970 the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco and Dante Americo DiFranco, who been in contact while at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was Italian origin and her mother was originally from Montreal. Ani DiFranco wrote and sang 32 Flavors. The track was first released as the fifth single from DiFranco's 1995 studio album Not a Pretty Girl. This song appears on the film's soundtrack the Canadian romance film Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco apologized for hosting a workshop in Louisiana on an old slave plantation. The course was postponed, however, she did not express any regret. DiFranco apologized for her mistake a couple of days afterwards. While she's best known as Little Folksinger, her style is a mix of different genres. Her collaborators are a wide range of artists, from Pete Seeger and Chuck D to Prince. Her home is New Orleans. Ani DiFranco resides with Kristen Ford. At 14, she began to write her own music. They were performed in bars and in coffee shops all through her teenage years. DiFranco completed her studies at Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts at the age of 16.
